Pondering G4P

I was recently asked to comment on this!

If I could ask for a topic to be addressed in an upcoming blog post, I'd love to hear your take on G4P actors. For me, I actually hate it when sites like Chaos Men stress how 'straight' the guys are in an effort to make them more attractive. I had to unfollow one porn actor on Twitter because he just got too adamant about how straight he is- never mind that he's on Sketchy Sex taking dozens of loads in both holes. But I'm curious as to what you think- not just filming with them, but also how they impact the gay porn industry. If, you know, you're taking requests, lol....

So this is my response.

So here is what I think. Unless your actually get into gay sex you should not be doing gay porn. For example Andrew Stark really likes gay sex. He just isn’t into having a relationship with a guy. Most straight men who do gay porn are pretty but they are so uncomfortable the scenes the scenes turn out horrid. Best example is Leo Giamani. I think he is super fucking hot but he is horrid to watch. Not to mention that he owes studios money. He would ask for a huge amount upfront to do a scene and then bail and never show up. Kind of a huge douche bag but hey, straight guys think they can get away with tons of shit. Not to mention he gave the owner of a studios info out to a debt collector. So the debt collector is harassing the wrong person.

A lot of straight men go into gay porn because gay porn pays more than straight porn for the male actors. As well as gay porn studios treats men better then straight porn studios. But G4P actors don’t treat gays usually any better than they did before. So why do we use them? Is there any benefit to them being around? Nothing really is coming to mind. Unless I wanted to do something that doesn’t involve gay people or a bar. Again this doesn’t not apply to all but the majority it does. I have met enough to know they are as useful to my existence as herpes is. I don’t have herpes but comparing them to it is easy. I don’t have it or need it just like I don’t have straight people in my life and I sure as hell don’t need them either.

So as gay men yes the doing a straight guy can be hot (but it is not a turn on for me though). We, should look at where the money is going. Do they support the gay community? NO! Do they pay our bills? NO! Do they help us out in any actually productive way? NO! (And don’t think for a second helping you cum is a productive sense) So why should we as a gay community help them out. They don’t do anything for us but they do just take and take. So they are in a sense leeches. This doesn’t mean all of them are but for the most part the majority are. How often do you see them in our community just hanging out with us? Rare and usually it’s when they are getting paid to do so. So again why should we support people like that?

So it is time to actually give back to the gay community. As viewers and as performers. I volunteer and go out of my way to do fundraisers that give back. What as a gay man have you done for your community lately? Think outside the box and try to have it not involve the usual crap that people in our society are judged upon!

  1. Thanks for answering my question... I am really struggling to reconcile my feelings about it all. On one hand, people say things like "It's just porn. Why get so worked up about it? If you don't like the scene/actor/whatever, don't watch it." And that's true--- to an extent. But think about this: in many parts of the country/world, it's difficult for young guys to deal with their urges if they're not 100% straight. So what do they do? Watch porn on the internet, of course! And if the message (quite often) is: straight guys are 'better' because they're the most desirable (which is the unsubtle message producers send when they talk about how hot these guys are in the same sentence as mentioning how much pussy they get, when they never talk about how much dick the gay models get, because then they're trashy sluts...) And then they go out and try to get with a straight guy 'cause it's so easy, right? And they get gay-bashed. Or humiliated. Or shot down. Or maybe they just feel shitty inside because, you know, they like GUYS. But all the porn stars they watch talk about how much pussy they get. The second reason it really bothers me is what you touch upon- the money. If the straight guys love pussy so much, why aren't they making straight porn? Oh, right. Because straight porn is about the pussy, not the dick. So they come over and allow gay guys to service them and get a big check and then say "Fuck off. I'm straight." I don't really care if porn stars fuck men and women in their off-time. That's their business. But this whole persona of "I'm only doing this for the money" turns me off. It's a fantasy, so sell it. And stop letting the studios tell us that gay is second class. Sorry for the soapbox rant, lol...

  2. I really wish gay porn buyers would stop supporting the gay for pay stars because that is why the studios keep hiring them. With many of them just doing it for $$$ and not being a friend of the gay community in any way other than giving us someone to jerk off too. i would rather see a gay man get the role at least they are going to not be talking about how awful it was to get fucked by another guy because they like men and that shows in the final product as well. Not all of the gay for pay guys are bad some are great guys but the ones like Cody Cummings just need to stick to doing straight porn.
